Lush Floating Flower Bath Bomb Review

Good afternoon, dear readers! :D

Today I have another Lush review for you!

I was sent the lovely Floating Flower for review, and I am so happy for that.  This was absolutely beautiful!!

This is a limited edition product, brought out for their Valentine's Day 2015 line.

Here is what Lush has to say about it:

tFlowers on the water

Relax, it’s nearly Valentine’s Day and this flower is sure to please! Gently place this multi-layered Bath Bomb in the water and watch as it floats and slowly fizzes away, releasing a sensual jasmine fragrance. Its vivid, colorful layers create a bouquet of pink, orange and green froth on the water, so get in and soak up all its goodness, and leave the tub feeling relaxed and smelling irresistible.

  • A bomb bouquet: Pick up a few and create the ultimate bouquet for lovers of flowers.
  • Smell familiar? This bomb shares its sensual scent with our Flying Fox shower gel.
  • Limited edition: Made just for Valentine’s Day, this one won’t last long!is one won’t last long!
And here are the ingredients:
Sodium Bicarbonate , Citric Acid , Cream of Tartar (Potassium bitartrate) , Sodium Laureth Sulfate ,Cypress Oil (Cupressus sempervirens) , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum) , Palmarossa Oil (Cymbopogan martini) , Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata) , Lauryl Betaine , *Geraniol , *Limonene ,*Linalool , Benzyl Alcohol , Lilial , Fragrance , Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides) , Blue 1 , Orange 4 ,Red 33 , Red 4 , Red 27 , Tangerine Dusting Powders (Yellow 5, Yellow 6) , Yellow Lustre (Maltodextrin, Potassium Aluminium Silicate)

First off, the fragrance is wonderful!!!  To me, it smells exactly like the Godiva solid shampoo that Lush carries, which is a lovely jasmine scent.  It's not a cloying fake floral scent, but a layered glorious REAL flower scent.  Lush does florals right!  I used to not be huge on floral scents when I was growing up, but I am loving them now after Lush.  XD

Here is the Floating Flower in the bath:

It really does look like a flower here! :D

This water marbling effect is so beautiful!!

I used the bath bomb with half the tub full, then filled up the tub the rest of the way.  Now I'm not sure if the bubbles are from the ingredients in the Floating Flower, or because I was lazy and didn't rinse out the tub after the Unicorn Horn bubble bar.  D:

After all was said and done, the water turned a clear, lovely rose colour.  To dissolve completely, the bath bomb took over ten minutes!!! O_O  That is really impressive!

The water was very soft on my skin, and it was a luxurious bath.  The scent of jasmine in the air was very relaxing, and it lightly fragranced my skin afterwards.

I highly recommend this one!  Not only does it smell wonderful and make the water lovely, but the show it gives lasts a long time, and is well worth the cost.

Remember that the Floating Flower is only around until Valentine's Day, so scoop them up while you can!

Have a great day! :D

Lush Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar Review

Good afternoon, dear readers!

Today I have another Lush Valentine's Day 2015 product to review!

I was very kindly sent the Unicorn Horn bubble bar for review, and I am so happy for that.

Isn't it gorgeous??

And it is a great size too:

Pink, purple, blue and yellow with silver lustre and tiny stars studding the outside = OMG SO CUTE!!! :'D  Some of the stars had popped off, but that's okay.  They leave little star imprints, and eehehehe so cuuuuuute!!  I want to get a bundle of these! XD

I felt almost guilty using this, as it's one of those Lush products that you want to keep on your shelf so you can look at its cuteness.

Here is what Lush has to say about it:

Sweet dreams are made of these

Sink into a magical bath filled with beautiful essential oils, colorful candy stars, sparkling glitter, rainbows and dreams. Gorgeous pastel colors and a shimmering luster create enchanting pink waters with silvery trails sparkling through it – just like the dazzling pools in magical forests that unicorns can be found bathing in. Lavender, ylang ylang and neroli create a unique and uplifting fragrance as you surround yourself with mounds of bubbles that will leave you feeling perfectly serene.

  • No two are alike: Each Unicorn Horn is lovingly handmade, so every one is unique!
  • Sweet dreams: The dreamy blend of lavender and neroli essential oils will leave you feeling relaxed and elated.
  • From Japan, with love: This one launched in Japan last year, and is now available for the whole LUSH world to enjoy.
And here are the ingredients:

Sodium Bicarbonate , Cream of Tartar (Potassium bitartrate) , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Lauryl Betaine ,Cornflour (Zea mays) , Fragrance , Lavender Oil (Lavandula augustifolia) , Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) , Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara) , *Citral ,*Limonene , *Linalool , Yellow 8 , Red 27 , Yellow 10 ,Yellow 5 , Potassium aluminium silicate , Blue 1 ,Titanium Dioxide , Maltodextrin , Mica , Multicoloured Candy Stars (Sugar, Corn Starch, Rice Flour, Soybean Oil, Cottonseed Oil, Gum Arabic, Xanthan Gum, Flavour, Monoglycerides, Diglycerides, Polysorbate 60, Blue 1, Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6)

Usually there are very distinct ingredients that I can pick up when I use a Lush product.  But with this, the scents blended into a sweet mixture that I can't pick out individual notes in.  But trust me when I say it has a very lovely fragrance! :D

I like sharing Lush goodies with my sister, so I asked if she would like to do a review for me, and here is what she had to say along with my observations when drawing the bath:

(I used about half the bar for the bath, a little more than shown here:)

It produces massive amounts of bubbles, and the water turns a light lavender with silver shimmer.

The scent is much stronger in the bar itself, versus when you crumble it up and mix it into the tub.  It is not cloying in any way, and while it does scent the skin after you step out of the bath, it is a very light fragrance, and very nice. :D

While not moisturizing, it is not drying at all (and my sister and I can get reeeally dry skin, so that is great!).

At the midway point, lots of bubbles.

When I was done filling the tub, LOTS of bubbles.  And I could have made more if I agitated the water more.

I so, so, so recommend this!  Not only does it smell great and produce many bubbles, but it leaves sparkle in the water and the product itself is more adorable than I can say.  I feel kind of light Rainbow Brite holding it. XD

Have a wonderful day, and don't forget that the Unicorn Horn is a limited edition product, so if you are hoping to pick one (or several!) up, that they will only be around for Valentine's Day.

Lush Lonely Heart Bubble Bar Review

Good morning, lovelies!

Today I have a review of Lush's Lonely Heart bubble bar, which is a Valentine's Day 2015 limited edition release.

This gorgeous bar was very kindly sent to me for review.

(Isn't it adorable?!!?)

Here is what has to say about it:

"A heart full of Love

Crumble this heart under running water and it may just make your heart race a little. Its golden shimmer and vibrant red center will turn your bath water into a lascivious haven of soft bubbles. It features the same scent as our bygone Love perfume – a lemongrass, bergamot, jasmine and ylang ylang blend that will leave your soft skin smelling oh-so-irresistible.

  • Shim shimmer: The gold glimmer luster is safe for the environment.
  • Oh, you so corny! We added a touch of corn flour to this one to keep skin soft in and out of the tub.
  • Love at first smell: This bar’s scent will fill your heart (and your nose) with Love…literally."
And here are the ingredients:

Sodium Bicarbonate , Cream of Tartar (Potassium bitartrate) , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Cornflour (Zea mays) , Lauryl Betaine , Fragrance , Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopogon citratus) , Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia) , Jasmine Absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum) , Rose Absolute (Rosa damascena) ,Ylang Ylang Absolute (Cananga Odorata) , Oak Moss Extract (Evernia Prunastri) , *Cinnamal , *Citral ,*Geraniol , *Benzyl Benzoate , *Limonene , *Linalool ,*Farnesol , Coumarin , Red 4 , Snowflake Lustre (Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Aluminium Silicate) , Gold Glimmer Lustre Golden Glitter (Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Iron Oxides, Silica)

It has a delightful fragrance!!  I didn't realise that it is a fragrance that they had before, called Love.  It's hard for me to place it, but I do get a citrus-fruity-floral scent when I smell it.  With the bergamot and lemongrass mixed with the rose, ylang ylang, and jasmine, you get a unique but really pleasant mix.  I think it is very interesting that there is oak moss extract in there as well.

I used half a bar for my bath, as I like making at least two baths out of Lush products when I can.

The water was a clear reddish pink hue, with fine gold shimmer flecks floating around, that disappeared and reappeared when they caught the light.

There weren't as many bubbles as with some other bubble bars I've tried, but again I used only half of the bar and the bar itself is smaller than bubble bars like Blue Skies and the Comforter.

I took photos at the half-way point to show how intense the colour would be at full strength.

My skin smelled absolutely lovely afterwards.  Sadly I had to take a rather short bath, but it was luxurious and very relaxing, and I highly recommend this as a treat for yourself or someone you care about.
Also it is so cuuuute, being a sparkly heart, and all. XD

Another hit from Lush! :D

I will be back soon with more reviews of the Valentine's Day line! :D
Until then, take care and have a wonderful day!

Lush Valentine's Day 2015

Good evening, dear readers! :D

It's coming up to that time of the year again, where hearts, chocolate, and flowers pop up all over the place.

While many of you will be celebrating with your significant other, I'll be at home doing my own thing.  I'm single but I still like the idea of Valentine's Day, and with Lush's Valentine's Day line up for 2015, I can pamper myself regardless of my single status. :D

Here are the goods!!

I will have some reviews up shortly for a few of the new products! :D

Last year I tried Prince Charming shower gel, Neon Love soap (Cupid's Love), and the Love Locket bath bomb.   Actually, quite a few of those, as they are some of my favourite bath bombs ever. You can click on the hyperlinks to see those reviews, or click on the Lush section near the top of my web page, where it will bring you to a list of Lush reviews I have done so far.

Gaaah, Lush holiday collections are brilliant!  I want to scoop them all up!

Have a wonderful evening! :)

Lush Hot Toddy Shower Gel

Good morning lovelies!

Today I have a review of the decadent Lush Hot Toddy shower gel.

This has got to be one of my favourite shower gels of theirs that I have ever had the pleasure of using.

It is a gorgeous ruby red, with fine mica flakes suspended within, which shimmer golden in the light.

As with their other sparkle containing gels, the flakes mostly sink to the bottom, but I don't mind.

The scent is a warm and inviting spicy cola scent.  I didn't expect that, but I ended up quite enjoying it.  It has clove, orange, cinnamon, patchouli and ginger in the ingredients, and it really brings about a festive aroma.

I have a big bottle of Rose Jam shower gel left over from last year (and it is still perfect!), so I decided to mix a little in with the Hot Toddy to see how it turned out.

The scent is diviiiiiine!! I seriously love it.  So I will probably keep mixing the two together throughout the year in a smaller bottle I had left over, and that makes me a bit giddy as it means I will have about two large bottles (500ml) worth of Hot Toddy/Rose Jam goodness!

The scent really does stay on your skin for hours afterwards, and I catch myself sniffing my arms because I smell so gosh darn delicious!

I truly hope that they bring this back next Christmas so I can pick up another bottle or two.  I was very fortunate in that I received my current bottle as a gift from a dear friend, and I am excited to enjoy it all year long.

From the website:

All things spice and everything nice

Ruby red and cinnamon scented, our sparkling Hot Toddy shower gel will transport your senses to the warmest reaches of your mind. Come in from the cold and lather up with a fresh ginger infusion and cinnamon leaf oil mix that will keep you cozy on the chilliest days. It'll even leave a delectable, cinnamon-y scent on your skin that's not overpowering - unlike a certain cinnamon-y, heart-shaped candy...any guesses?

  • That's a spicy showa gel: Cinnamon and ginger collide to make this sudser warm and spicy with a holiday scent.
  • Soft and soothing: We added aloe vera gel to this one to make it hydrating and soothing for dry, winter skin.
  • Shimmer, shimmer: A gold luster gives this shower gel a bit of sparkling power."

Lush First Snow Dusting Powder

Good morning dear readers!

Today I have a review of Lush's First Snow dusting powder.

My sister got this for me for Christmas, as she knows I love Lush and snow.  :D

First off, it has "Snowflake Lustre" and "Geo Pearl Crystal Glittering Rainbow" in it, which are comprised of titanium dioxide, potassium aluminum silicate and synthetic fluorphlogopite), which creates a glistening shimmer.  When you rub in onto your skin, it glimmers with the light and adds a delicate sparkle.  It looks so beautiful!

(It's a bit hard to see here but the shimmer is there!)

Secondly: the scent.  Ohmygosh!  It smells sooo good!  It has the same fragrance as the Golden Wonder bath bomb, which is a light citrus deliciousness that would be perfect for New Years Eve.  Come to think of it, this product would be AMAZING for New Years Eve!  You could be all shimmery and smell reminiscent of a fruity champagne :D. (Okay so I may have written this post before New Years, but I still stand by what I said.)

Here is what has to say about First Snow:

Sparkling, citrusy dusting powder

Leave your skin sparkling and scented with our First Snow Sparkling Dusting Powder. Packed with an uplifting blend of merry-making essential oils like sweet orange, cognac and lime, it’s the perfect companion for every holiday party. Lush Yog Nog Soap

Good morning lovelies! :D

Today I have a review of Lush's holiday Yog Nog soap.

I apologize that I don't have any photos of a full slice, as I didn't have my light box set up and I wanted to use it right away.  I also gave half away to my sister, so I don't have much left to photograph. XD

This creamy soap has a gorgeous sponge toffee fragrance (although I think they were aiming for more egg nog).  Seriously, I reaaally get sponge toffee when I smell it.

I love that the soap looks like egg nog, with the yellow cream colouring and the dusting of cocoa on the top.  Although it's hard to see here, the soap is patterned with raised Christmas-y patterns (think angels and stars and the like), and is quite lovely.

I find that it can take a wee bit of work to lather it up in your hands, but I imagine that with a loofah or wash cloth it would bubble up quite fast.  Also the texture of the soap is rather soft and slightly melty, so you will get some on your fingers if you slice it like I did and try to take the slices apart.

I've only used it on my hands, but Yog Nog is lightly moisturizing and the scent lingers on your skin.

It also scents up the bathroom, which is delightful! :D

Here is what has to say about it:

"Indulgent and spicy

Did you know Egg Nog is the most popular Christmas drink in North America? It’s true! To honor this shared love of all things boozy and creamy, we re-imagined this drink as a vegan soap. Made with soy yogurt and a dash of festive spice, Yog Nog has that unmistakable creamy texture with a fudgy, spicy blend of clove bud and ylang ylang essential oils to leave skin super soft. We even gave it a generous dusting of aromatic cocoa and nutmeg powder. Just try not to eat it. Because after all, it's still soap.

  • We go vegan: Made with soy yogurt, everyone can enjoy this vegan sweet treat!
  • Born free: This spicy little number is made with a 100% palm-free soap base and is petrochemical free.
  • Warm and spicy: Yog Nog’s spicy blend will leave you feeling cozy and nostalgic.
And there are the ingredients:
Water (Aqua) , Glycerine , Rapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil (Brassica napus; Cocos nucifera) , Sorbitol , Soya Yoghurt (Glycine soja) , Fragrance , Clove Bud Oil (Eugenia caryophyllus) , Ylang Ylang Oil (Cananga odorata) , Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides) ,Titanium Dioxide , Sodium Chloride , EDTA ,Tetrasodium Editronate , Sodium Hydroxide , *Eugenol, *Linalool , Cocoa Powder (Theobroma cacao) ,Nutmeg Powder (Myristica Fragrans)
My sister also quite enjoyed this soap, and if they bring it back next year I can see us picking up another slice or two.
I hope you have a wonderful day! :D

Products I'm Really Enjoying Right Now

Good afternoon, dear readers! Today's post is about some of products that I've been enjoying lately!  Swatches (where applicable) ...
