Lush Carrot Soap Review

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I will be reviewing the Lush Carrot Soap, which was every so kindly sent to me for review. :}

This is a limited-edition Easter release, so be sure to check this out before it "leaps away" and is gone!

Here is what Lush has to say about Carrot:

"Softening lemon-blackcurrant sudser

This soap may look like a giant carrot, but it certainly doesn’t smell like one! Instead, we’ve created an energizing, tropical blend of Sicilian lemon oil and fruity buchu oil that’s sure to put some spring in your step. A healthy helping of cocoa butter softens and moisturizes your skin as you wash, and carrot oil lends its nourishing, conditioning qualities to leave your skin feeling smooth, clean and refreshed. A leaping white bunny jumps across each slice as a reminder that all of our products are strictly cruelty-free, and that we continue to fight animal testing."

Here is the list of ingredients:
Water , Propylene Glycol , Rapeseed Oil , Coconut Oil (Brassica napus; Cocos nucifera) , Fragrance , Carrot Oil (Daucus carota) , Sodium Stearate , Buchu Oil (Barosma betulina) , Sicilian Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum) , Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia) ,Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao) ,Titanium Dioxide , Glycerine , Sodium Chloride , EDTA, Tetrasodium Editronate , Lilial , *Linalool , *Limonene, D&C Orange No. 4

This soap is wonderful!! :D

It really reminds me a lot of V8 Splash Tropical Blend (a delicious fruity cocktail that also happens to contain carrot) both in colour and in fragrance. :} It smells sooo good!!

While I noticed that this soap is one of their more 'juicy' soaps (like Neon Love) and so does not lather up as well as some of their creamy soaps (like Alkmaar), it still gets the job done well and leaves you feeling quenched.

This retails for $6.95 Can per 100 g, so it is also on the cheaper end of the Lush spectrum (yay!!! :D).

It makes for a sunny and bright bar, and the colour and fragrance are both a delight for the bathroom.

I really like how they incorporated carrot and bunnies in this for Easter. :)  I especially love that they put the image of a leaping bunny into the bar, to both remind us of Easter, but also of Lush's commitment to being cruelty-free and the importance of keeping our furry friends from harm.  Here is a link to the Leaping Bunny logo for more information.

Overall I am extremely pleased with this soap, and would love to buy more of it!  I think it makes for an adorable Easter gift, while being a treat for the senses.

It does leave a bit of fragrance to your skin after using it (which is awesome!), but it is not overwhelming, and the scent doesn't linger for very long, so no worries about perfume clashing!  :D

I paired this with the Bunch of Carrots bubble bar in my bath, and my skin felt great! :}

I highly recommend this!! :D

I hope that you have a fantastic weekend, and I'll be back shortly with more Lush reviews!

Lush Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar

Good afternoon, dear readers! :D

I hope that you are doing well on this spring day.  Truthfully, it is kind of depressing outside right now, as it has been raining all day and is very gray.  I do like rain, but we still have a lot of snow that is melting, and it makes for a really ugly scene. :(  Spring is my least favourite season... sigh!

However, I am able to review some more Lush treats, which really brightens up the dreariness! :D

Today I am reviewing the Bunch of Carrots reusable bubble bar!  (Thank you so much to Lush who sent these for me to review and enjoy!)

Here is what the website has to say about these adorable carrots:

"Fruity, fresh bubbles

Hop into the tub this Easter with the best-smelling 'vegetable' you'll ever enjoy. These bubbly carrots may not improve your eyesight, but they will fill your bath with piles of rich, frothy lemon and bergamot-scented foam. Simply grab one of the carrots by its green top and hold it under the running tap to fill your tub with bubbly goodness, then set it aside for next time. Each carrot will create several bubbly baths, so you’ll get loads of bathing bliss out of this bunch!"

Aren't they so cute?!  Not only is it a great idea that they separated them into smaller carrots so that you don't have to crumble or wet one huge one every time you want to use it, but you can also give one away as a gift! :D

They are really decent in size, too!

Here is the list of ingredients:
Sodium Bicarbonate , Cream of Tartar (Potassium bitartrate) , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Glycerine , Lauryl Betaine , Fragrance , Buchu Oil (Barosma betulina) ,Sicilian Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum) , Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia) , Lilial , *Limonene ,*Linalool , D&C Orange No. 4

According to Lush you can get at least 7 baths out of this bunch!  I would have to agree with that, as I used about half of one for my bath, and could easily get 2+ baths out of each one.

Now onto the bath:

Yay look at me go! :D
Woohoo, turning that water a light orange!
Kinda looks like a real carrot here...
 Whoops!! :O
The carrot fell off!  I would suggest holding it by the carrot part vs. the stem, just in case it dissolves around the top and plunks into the bath, as mine did.
 Ooo luscious bubbles!

Not only did this smell wonderful, but like all other Lush bubble bars it softened my hard water and made my skin feel nice and smooth! :D

The bathroom smelled reaaaally good, and it even got another compliment from someone else!

The carrot produced many lovely and puffy bubbles, which lasted until just before I decided to leave my bath (and I don't take quick baths).  I could have produced more bubbles for these photos, but I didn't want to agitate the water too much, so I could give an accurate representation of what you will get when you use the Bunch of Carrots.  I know that I don't always have the energy to swoosh the water around while the tub fills up to make bubble mounds, so here is what you get with light swooshing. :D

Would I want to use this again?  Most definitely!! :D You get 6-7 delightfully relaxing baths for the $12.95 price tag, the product itself is super cute, and it makes for a most relaxing bath.  It smells wonderful, softens your water, has a delightful Easter theme and won't clash with any scents you put on your skin afterwards.

The scent in the bathroom is noticeable but light, so it won't be cloying.

Another winner, Lush!! :D  Thank you for letting me relax and bring some happy into my day!

I am looking forward to having another Bunch of Carrots bath, and to giving some away as pick-me-up presents!! :D

Have a wonderful day!

Waffles the Raccoon

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Recently we had a visitor in our backyard.

For a few days we kept a couple of garbage bags behind our house, and the temperature warmed up enough that a raccoon caught the scent (ewww garbage!) and decided to have a look.

We had noticed that the bags had a couple of small holes in them, and then one morning when I went outside I saw a paw-print in the snow, so I knew it was a raccoon (they have such funny little paws!).

That night, I opened the back door and turned on the porch light, thinking that it would be pretty cool if he/she were out there.

I looked around, and then saw this (!!):

YAY!! XD  (One of those things is not like the others...)

So, having this awesome opportunity, I grabbed my camera and took these photos.

Afterwards I put some good food outside for it, since eating garbage is gross.

Then I named it Waffles.

I haven't seen Waffles since, but I know that he/she really likes almonds XD.

I thought I would share the cuteness that is Waffles, and I hope that you have a super awesome day!!
