Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics

Good afternoon, dear readers! :D

A little while back I entered a contest on Beauty Crazed for a set of Elizabeth Arden cosmetics, and then I promptly forgot about it.  Then a couple weeks ago I got a e-mail telling me that I won!!! :D  I was so ecstatic (and still am!!).  I have never tried any Elizabeth Arden products before, although I have been aware of the company for a long time.  Here is what I won:
- Beautiful Color Eye Shadow Duo in Heathered Plums ($32.00 CAN for .11 oz, 3 g)
- Ceramide Cream Blush in Nectar ($30.00 CAN for .09 oz, 2.67 g)
- Beautiful Color Smooth Line Lip Pencil in Crimson ($23 CAN for .03 oz, 1.05 g)
- Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Mulberry ($29.00 CAN for .12 oz, 3.5 g)
- High Shine Lip Gloss in Sparkling Ruby ($20 CAN for .22 fl oz, 6.5 ml)

EEE!!!  I am so excited about these cosmetics!! :D

Here is the eye shadow in Heathered Plums:

Isn't that a gorgeous compact??!

And here is the lipstick in Mulberry:

Again, there is some gorgeous packaging (the lipstick container has a very satisfying weight to it!)

The lip liner in Crimson (one end is the pencil and the other has a lip brush):

The gloss in Sparkling Ruby:

And last but certainly not least, the cream blush in Nectar:

Here are some swatches on the inside of my arm, both without and with flash:

(From L to R: Heathered Plums eye shadows (dry application), Crimson lip pencil, Sparkling Ruby lip gloss, Mulberry lip stick, Nectar blush and Nectar blush rubbed in)

I am so ecstatic with these!! :D The colours are gorgeous (not to mention they are great for my personal colouring huzzah!), the products are top quality, and the packaging is absolutely stunning.  It is a real pleasure to whip out a golden compact or sexy bullet and apply some colour!! :D

To be honest I never really thought about purchasing Elizabeth Arden cosmetics, as I considered them to be more "grown up" (it still baffles me to think that I am an adult, and have been for some time.  I sure don't feel (or act ;)) like one!).  After experiencing these products, I can safely say that I will definitely consider purchasing more from Elizabeth in the future.  Although by some standards the cream blush doesn't have a huge amount of product in it, I know it will last a long time as it is quite pigmented and a little goes a long way.

In all I would say that the quality of these cosmetics and the impressive packaging they are housed in definitely give you a good bang for your buck.

What do you think of Elizabeth Arden cosmetics?  Have you tried them before or will you consider doing so in the future?

Have a wonderful day my friends!

Twinsie Tuesday - Oldest Polish

Good afternoon, dear readers!

Today is Twinsie Tuesday!!  Today's theme is "Oldest Polish".  So for this I had to go with an orange number by Cover Girl (from years ago!).

Here it is: Cover Girl Nail Slicks in Citrus Punch:

This is an extremely sheer orange that has a pink shimmer in it.  I actually really like it, despite it being orange (one of the worst colours I can possible wear!).

I am wearing about 3 or 4 coats over Revlon Popular, as I had Popular on and was too lazy to take it off before applying Citrus Punch.  XD

I kinda wish I still had my first nail polish I ever got to show you.  It was a glittery red in this type of bottle, from the 1990's.  I was still a kid, and it was in a pharmacy that was in the same building as my doctors office.  I kept seeing it, and I begged my parents for it, and they got it for me.  :D  Ahh, memories!! :D

This Nail Slicks was given to me by my sister.  It was in her collection, which she awesomely gave to me when I was starting to be extremely enamoured (*cough* obsessed *cough*) with nail polishes.  :D

What is your oldest bottle of nail polish?

Orly Stone Cold

Good afternoon, dear readers! :D

A little while back (last month) I was lucky to find some of the Orly Mineral FX collection, which was released in 2011.  I had missed its release, so I didn't own any of them.  Thankfully, Winners has had some in stock (I love that place!) and I picked up Stone Cold and Rock Solid (the two I really wanted!!).  They had Emberstone there as well, and maybe some of the other ones, but I am not sure.

Stone Cold is an amazing blue flecked polish (seriously, there are sooo many flecks in this, it's like the whole thing is just a bunch of bright blue flecks of whatever!).  It is so interesting looking:

How gorgeous is that??!!! I am so glad that I was able to pick this up!! :D  I took these photos last month when my nails were still pointy.  ^-^

Do you have Stone Cold or any other blues like this one?

I hope that everyone has been having a great (and safe!) weekend so far. :)

Cult Nails Manipulative with Snow Flakes

Good afternoon, dear readers!! :D

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend so far.  This morning there was a bit of snow falling from the sky (yay!!) but unfortunately it melted (nay!!) and we aren't supposed to be getting some decent snow until sometime in December (boo!!).

In the meantime, here is another snowy manicure:

For this manicure I used a base of Cult Nails Manipulative, then painted snow flakes with acrylic paint.  I then put one iridescent glitter in the center of each snow flake, and then coated everything with China Glaze Fast Forward top coat.  :)  (Please excuse my dry skin; I need to update my hand care for the cold and dry weather!)

Also, if anyone hasn't already voted and would be so kind (you don't have to but I would really appreciate it!!) I have an entry for a snow themed nail art contest here, and I could really use any votes I could get.  :D  Thank you so, so much for your support!!!!  (My name is Ashesela and the blog is Art Evolve).

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend!!!

Wintery Manicure with KKCenterHK Nail Decorations

Good morning, dear readers! :D

First off, I wanted to let you know that I will be adding photos to my blog via Flickr, as I ran out of Google image space. It is definitely more of a hassle than by going through Blogger, but it will have to do for now. :)

Today I have a winter-y manicure to share with you.  I was sent two gorgeous nail art decorations from KKCenterHK, and I had to use them right away as they are so beautiful!! :D

I was sent a snowflake and star decoration (one of each) to review.

I used clear nail polish as 'glue' for the charms, and they didn't budge!! :D

I highly recommend these, as they are so fun and beautiful.  They definitely add a gorgeous sparkle to your manicure, and I will be re-using them throughout the winter.  The star was curved, and it rested on my nail perfectly.  The snowflake was flat and so it stuck out a bit on the sides, but I don't mind (SO PRETTY!! O_O) XD.

(You can use the coupon 'art evolve' for 10% off your KKCenterHK order :D).

What do you think of these?

Need To Update Blog Image Storage

Good morning, dear readers!

I got a message from Blogger when I tried to  upload some photos today saying that I was out of image space.  I tried to purchase some space from Google, but for some reason it is not processing my request.  Unfortunately I will be unable to post any photos until I can get this sorted out.

In the meantime, I apologize for my absence and hope to get this blog up and running again as soon as possible.

Also, YAY this is my 400th post! :D  I wish it were more exciting, considering the circumstances. >.<

Take care my friends!!

Twinsie Tuesday - Thanksgiving Manicure

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today is Twinsie Tuesday, and the theme for this week is Thanksgiving! :)  I live in Canada and so have already celebrated the Canadian Thanksgiving, but now it is time for the American one! :D

I wanted a manicure that represented autumn, but wanted one that wasn't too autumn-y, since it is November and I always associate that with winter instead of fall (go fig!). :)

So here are some bare trees who have lost their leaves:

I started with a base of Orly Nite Owl, then applied some Sally Hansen Gem Crush in Big Money.  I used black paint to make the tree designs, and then applied some China Glaze Fast Forward top coat to finish things off.  :)

Don't forget to check out the other Twinsies blogs:

Orly Torrid and Gingerbread Disaster

Good morning, dear readers!

Today I have a manicure using Orly's Torrid, which is from their 2012 Naughty or Nice collection.  It is a beautiful metallic red, which reminds me of Christmas tree ornaments.

Here is Torrid with China Glaze Ring in the Red and O.P.I's Pirouette My Whistle on the ring and thumb nails:

Also, my sister and I tried to construct a gingerbread house the day before last, and it fell apart while we were working on it.  :(

XD!!  But it was still fun ^-^.  Better luck next year, I guess!

Have a wonderful day! : D

More Snowflakes!

Good morning, dear readers! :D

I have another freehand snowflake manicure to share with you! (I just can't get enough of them!!)

For this I started with Orly Au Champagne, and then I sponged on some China Glaze Electric Beat and Kinetic Candy.  I then added some Mysterium Ice Crystal to the tips, then painted some light blueish snowflakes.

Are you a fan of snowflake manicures?

Have a wonderful day!!!

Mysterium Avalanche

Good morning, dear readers!! :D

Today I have a swatch of Mysterium Avalanche.

This polish is a mix of white and black glitters in a shimmery base.  The shimmers represent the fine particles of snow that get thrown up in the air when snow gets moved, the white glitter represents snow, and the black represents soil, rocks, and other debris that get mixed in when an avalanche moves down a mountain.

This is over China Glaze For Audrey.

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend so far! :D

Good afternoon, dear readers! Today's post is about some of products that I've been enjoying lately!  Swatches (where applicable) ...
