Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip - Viper

Good morning, dear readers!

Today I have another Colour Pop review; this time, it's for the Ultra Matte Lip in Viper!

ViperViper

(Not my photos, photos from here.)

This is drying, as are pretty much most matte lip products (especially ones that actually dry to a dry finish) but still pretty decently comfortable to wear (and my default preference is to have lip balm on).

This dries rather fast so if you need to fix your application I'd suggest doing so quickly.  It can be fixed afterwards but it's more of a pain after it's already dry.

Great staying power and *almost* completely transfer-proof (I think there will always be a bit of transfer possibility in the areas where the lips meet due to moisture and the product breaking down a bit with spit), BUT!!! if you eat something oily (like something with butter) it can start to dissolve the makeup (like oil makeup removers).  I had some butter popcorn and forgot that I was wearing lip products and oooeeee did it ever start smearing haha (so just a warning!).

This retails for $6 USD.

Really great product, and I recommend it!!

Have a wonderful morning!

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lip Review - Notion

Good evening, dear readers!

Today I have a review of Colour Pop's Ultra Matte Lip in Notion.

Notion Notion
(Not my images, images taken from here.)

According to Colour Pop:
"We are pretty positive you are going to love this rich red violet"

This is a gorgeous colour!!  I found it tricky to get right on my lips so I used both the doe foot applicator along with a lip brush.  This does dry fast though, so it can make using a lip brush a bit trickier.

As I used a light box, the image of the tube looks brighter than it does in regular room lighting.  I adjusted one of the photos online to try to get it a bit closer to how the tube looks in my bedroom without the lightbox:

I did find that this dried darker on my lips than expected.  The photos below were taken at night indoors, either with bedroom, bathroom or reflected light box light.

Apologies for the blurry photos, my phone's front camera doesn't always take the clearest photos indoors.

To me it looks like there is more brown in this when it's on the lips (I also find that several of the Colour Pop colours dry darker than they look in the tubes, but I've noticed that acrylic paints can dry down darker too).

The last image in this post looks like there is either a bit of staining around the corners of my mouth or my skin is red from rubbing off extra pigment.  Reds can be a bit tenacious, but with a good oil cleanser it comes off pretty well.

I really recommend Colour Pop's lip products.  I do find these drying, and normally I dislike drying lip products but these are still great.  I find lip liner more drying on my lips, and the colours, pigment densities and near smudge-proofiness of these make them a pleasure to wear.

Thank you again to my sister for the Colour Pop gifts!!!!! :D

Have a wonderful night! :D

Colour Pop Lippie Stix Review - Brink

Good evening, and happy December, dear readers!

I want to make a bunch more posts this month as December is my favourite month of the year, and I LOVE CHRISTMAS THINGS!!

This isn't related to Christmas per se, but it was a gift so that works, right??

This is Colour Pop's Lippie Stix in Brink.  (Also, every single Colour Pop cosmetic I own was generously gifted to me from my sister!! :'D)

BrinkBrink

(Not my images, images taken from here.)

According to Colour Pop:
"A warm dusty taupe in a matte finish. Curated by @brittanysuleiman. Inspired by the insta-famous Kylie lip"

This is a really gorgeous colour, and it's almost like one of those 'your-lips-but-better' shades on my skin.  The formula is very creamy but after some time it looses its creaminess and gets more dry.

I've had this for a while now so it's a little beat up after being stuffed in my purse.

I really like this product.  I wouldn't say it's super long wearing, especially if you eat and drink while wearing it, but I like applying lipstick to I don't mind if I need to re-apply it.

The packaging is handy and I like that the product is on a slant so if you keep using it in that way then it keeps a bit of an edge on it which I find helps with lip contours (especially getting around the edges).

(This was evening bathroom lighting.)

Here is a photo with some light from my light box:

In this photo below the lighting washed out some of the colour in my face and the lipstick and turned out like this (!):

The Lippie Stix name reminds me of something Bonne Bell would have come up with in the 90's-early 00's (they had some great makeup!) so it has a bit of a nostalgia factor to me.

This retails for $5 USD.

Again I will have to say that I adore Colour Pop and I am going to have many more reviews up for them soon.  Their prices and the quality of their products still impresses me a lot, and they have so many gorgeous shades to choose from!

What are some of your favourite cosmetics brands?

Have a lovely evening!!
