Lush Nightwing Shower Jelly

Sunday, October 18, 2015

Good morning, dear readers!

Today I have a review of Lush's Nightwing shower jelly.

This is part of their Halloween 2015 line, and it is so cute! :D  It's shaped like a bat!

"For dark nights;
A fang-tastically fruity jelly to put the bite back into bathtime. When the dark night rises, seek the fruity candy-scented salvation of this aloe vera and lime juice jelly and cover yourself in a sweet, carrageenan lather. For an extra stimulating hit, use it fresh from the fridge or freezer. A hint of vitamin E-rich carob syrup delivers extra nourishment to the body and adds to that deliciously fruity perfume." - Lush.ca

Ingredients: Glycerine Water (Aqua) Sodium Laureth Sulfate Propylene Glycol Fresh Lime Juice and Aloe Vera Gel Decoction (Citrus Aurantifolia; Aloe Barbadensis) Carrageenan Extract (Chondrus crispus) Lime Oil (Citrus aurantifolia) Carob Syrup (Ceratonia Siliqua) *Citral *Limonene Red 33 Blue 1 Iron Oxides . *Occurs naturally in essential oils

This review is from my sister.  I do not have Nightwing but she does, and she kindly offered to do a review for me :D.  She is comparing this to Whoosh, another shower Jelly from Lush that she is a fan of.

The texture is stiffer than Whoosh, making it more difficult to crush into a loofah for bubbles.

Because of this, little black bits were left on the shower floor and didn't dissolve right away.

The product is very pigmented, so it might be possible for things to get stained.  We haven't had that happen yet, and maybe it wouldn't happen, but we wanted to mention that just in case (like a light fabric bath mat).  As you can tell in the photo above, this is very juicy and the juice is a dark shade, so it's best to be careful.

The fragrance is fruity and nice (I agree!), but after a while it started smelling like Pine Sol (which she didn't mind so much as she likes that scent, but personally I'd be a little put off by it).

It didn't lather as much as Whoosh, and she didn't notice any skin softening properties after using this.  If I remember correctly, she gave it a 6/10 for lathering power.

Overall a very cute product (I love that they come out with the specialty jellies!), but not her favourite.  Definitely worth a try if you are interested in it; $6.95 Can. for 100 g is certainly a good price to give it a go in my opinion. :D

Have you tried any of Lush's shower jellies before?

Have a lovely day!

    1. :D I agree! Despite the drawbacks I don't think it's a terrible product, just not as good as some of their other releases.
