3 New Lush Face Masks!

Thursday, August 20, 2015

Good afternoon, dear readers! :D

Something exciting for us Lush fans; they've brought three new face masks into their North American line up in the past little while.  Two are Fresh Face Masks and the other is similar to Mask of Magnaminty in that it doesn't require refrigeration (and so, can be ordered online)! :D

They are:

Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask (60g for $12.95 Can)- to calm and cleanse

Cup O' Coffee (150g for $10.95 Can. or 325g for $19.95 Can.) - both a face and body mask for scrubbing

Rosy Cheeks' ingredients look very awesome to me; calamine to help keep itchiness and redness at bay, glycerine to draw moisture into your skin to help offset dryness, clay to draw out dirt, rose petals and rose oil to tone and soothe...here's the full list:

Calamine Powder, Glycerine, Kaolin, Water (Aqua), Rose Clay (Kaolinite), Red Rose Petals (Rosa Centifolia), Fragrance, Rose Oil (Rosa damascena), *Benzyl Alcohol, Lilial, *Citronellol, *Geraniol.
*Occurs naturally in essential oils

Cup O' Coffee's ingredients include kaolin, agave syrup, glycerine, fair trade vanilla absolute, caffeine powder, and some other interesting things:

Coffee Infusion (Coffea Arabica), Water (Aqua), Talc, Kaolin, Organic Agave Syrup (Agave Tequilana Leaf Extract), Glycerine, Fragrance, Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides), Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia), Roasted Cocoa Extract (Theobroma Cacao), Coriander Seed Oil (Coriandrum sativum), Bentone (Hectorite), Caffeine Powder (Caffeine), *Coumarin, *Limonene, *Linalool
*Occurs naturally in essential oils

Don't Look At Me Fresh Face Mask's first ingredient is kaolin, and the second is fresh organic lemon juice.

Because of the high concentration of lemon juice, I would caution those with sensitive skin to do a patch test (although I think sensitive skinned individuals should patch test anything new, I also understand how frustrating that can be and I rarely bother with it because I'm lazy and impatient).  When I used Lemony Flutter it was perfect on my skin, and Brazened Honey had some tingling (but nothing bad).

Several citrus juices/essential oils (lemon, lime, bergamot, and bitter orange are all ones that do this) make skin tissue much more sensitive to UV, so I would suggest using this mask in the evening, and applying a decent SPF on your skin if you are going to be exposed to UV.  :D

Here is the full list of ingredients:

Kaolin, Fresh Organic Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum), Glycerine, Rice Syrup (Oryza Sativa Syrup), Ground White Rice (Oryza Sativa Starch), Organic Silken Tofu, Murumuru Butter (Astrocaryum murumuru), Bentone (Hectorite), Rice Milk (Oryza Sativa), Water (Aqua), Fragrance, Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi), Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara), *Limonene, *Geraniol, *Linalool, *Farnesol, Blue 1
*Occurs naturally in essential oils

I'm excited about these face masks and look forward to trying them!  While they are more expensive than the other Fresh Face Masks available until now, I believe is it due to the cost of the ingredients used.  Lush has some real winners in the face mask category (Brazened Honey will always be a favourite of mine!), so I bet these will be delightful and I will review them as soon as I can. :D

Have you tried any of these yet?

Have a lovely day!
