Twinsie Tuesday - Halloween Manicure (WARNING: GORY!!)

Good morning, dear readers!! :D

I am really excited to share this week's Twinsie Tuesday manicure with you.  For this edition, we were to make a manicure with a Halloween theme.  Well, being Halloween week and all, I decided to take it one step further, and enlist my wonderfully talented sister as my make-up artist.  I figured I could do it myself and do an okay job, or, get my awesome sister to do an awesome job (there was no contest!). So here it is: a zombie hand by my sis!! :D

Isn't that so gross?? > :D  I love how she did it!!! :D

Josie Maran Argan Oil - Review

Good morning, dear readers! :D

I wanted to start branching out with the types of blog posts I have, so I will be posting about other cosmetics as well as nail polishes.  :)

Josie Maran Argan Oil:

(Price at Sephora:
           0.5 oz - $18 CAN
           1.7 oz - $58 CAN
           4.0 oz - $125 CAN)
(Ingredients: 100% Organic and Natural Argania Spinosa Kernel (Argan) Oil.)

I love this stuff!!! :D  I only use a few drops on my face and neck in the morning and evening, after I have done my other face care.  I find it helps seal the moisture in, and it gives me incredibly smooth skin.  It helps with my dryness issues and evening out my skin tone, while being extremely gentle and non-irritating.  You can use it by itself, and it will help moisturise wherever you put it.

For those who have combination or oily skin, fret not!!  This oil acts as a lubricant to your skin, so instead of making your skin produce more sebum by drying it out, it 'tricks' the skin into thinking it has enough so it doesn't produce extra.  An oil that helps with oil problems...go figure!  But it really does work. :D  I have dry-combination skin and I adore this product! :)

Argan oil hails from the land of Morocco, as the argan tree only grows in that region.  (You can read more about argan trees, oil and the extraction process here.  It is quite interesting!! :D)

The oil can be used all over your body, including your hair (to add shine, moisturise and minimize frizziness). But do know that you should use only a small amount if you add it to your hair; a little goes a long way.

I enjoy the fact that this is an amazing organic product with only one ingredient, and that it can be used for so many things.

This is an expensive luxury product (when purchased from this brand), but a little goes a very long way.  I love the packaging that Josie Maran's products have, and the fact that the golden oil is housed in a dark bottle (to protect the contents from light) with a dropper.  (One thing; argan oil is very thin so it will drip out of the dropper on its own accord, so be careful when you use it so that you don't spill it.)

I have also used argan oil from New Directions Aromatics, and I found it worked just as well for a much cheaper price.  There was more of an earthy scent to this one, but you really can't complain considering the value.  You can get organic argan oil at these prices:

3.3 oz       - $14.17 CAN
16 oz        - $49.61 CAN
33.8 oz     - $95.40 CAN
135.26 oz - $360.80 CAN
676.3 oz   - $1653.67 CAN

I used up my last order from NDA, as I got the 'sample' of 3.3 oz a while ago, and shared it with a friend.  The bottle I got was also dark glass, but did not come with a dropper, so I prefer the packaging from Josie Maran.  However, at this price I may just go back to NDA argan oil and put it in the Josie Maran bottle.  :D

I am horrible when it comes to packaging!!!  I love luxe bottles and jars, teensy-spoons that come with expensive creams and all those luxury trappings.  The problem is I don't have the income to support that lifestyle.  Sigh!!  Silly me! XD

Anyhoo, if you haven't tried it before, I highly suggest giving argan oil a go.  It really is a wonder product, and I am glad to have it in my skincare regimen again. :)

Have a lovely day! :D

The Hungry Asian Sea Creature over Sally Hansen The Real Teal

Good morning, dear readers!

I hope that everyone is having a fantastic weekend!! :D

Today I have an old manicure to show you: The Hungry Asian Sea Creature over Sally Hansen The Real Teal.  I had taken photos of this manicure earlier in the year (I think in August), but had forgotten to post them.  Unfortunately my skin is a bit dry in the photos, so please forgive that.  XD  And the tip wear is my own fault, as I forget to wrap my tips a lot.

Isn't Sea Creature gorgeous??!!  I also *love* how she draws adorable pictures on each bottle.  XD

Have you tried Sea Creature or any other The Hungry Asian polishes?

Have a wonderful day!!

Mysterium - Ice Crystal

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a Mysterium polish I made to show you: Ice Crystal.

(The label is a temporary one; I'm still trying to find ones that fit this particular bottle shape.)

This is a shimmery and glittery white which reflects back a beautiful iridescence.  This is the only bottle of this I have made, and I hope that in the future I will have the materials to produce more of this.  I have to say that this is one of my all-time favourite polishes that I have ever made.  :D  What do you think of Ice Crystal?

I can't wait for winter!!!

O.P.I Swimsuit...Nailed It Swatch

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a gorgeous blue polish to show you: O.P.I Swimsuit...Nailed It!.

This polish is from the 2011 O.P.I Miss Universe collection, and I was lucky to find it at Winners! :D

Someone had stuck a "matte" sticker onto it, so when I purchased the polish I thought that it was going to have a matte finish.  I soon realised that it is not a matte, but that is okay since it is so stunning!! :D  However, the sticker gave me the idea to slick some Sephora by O.P.I matte top coat on it, and so here it is:

Isn't that a stunning blue???!! O_O

I heard that this can stain nails and fingers a lot, but I used the glue base coat and the only staining I had was from where the polish got on my dry skin.  I was able to get it off not too bad, so I am happy! :D  (If only I had the glue base coat last year when I used Finger Paints Winter Sky...)

I changed my nail shape for this season after watching Dark Shadows (I was inspired by the main character XD) and I like them! :D  Unfortunately I was opening a small cosmetic box and snapped the pointer tip clean off my right hand.  Sigh.  Thankfully it was on my non-photo hand.  XD  I also need to buff my nails as they are a bit lumpy from poor diet.

I hope that everyone is doing well!!

China Glaze Cast a Spell

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a swatch of China Glaze Cast a Spell.  This is from their new Wicked collection for Halloween.

This is a gorgeous black with a ton of golden-green shimmer (although if you look super close, you can see several teeny shimmers in different colours).

This is so pretty!!! :D  It reminds me of L'Oreal Owl's Night and Revlon Enthrall, but with a deeper base (black instead of brown).

What do you think of Cast a Spell?

China Glaze Eyes Like Sapphires and Girly Bits Apparition

Good afternoon, dear readers! :D

I hope that everyone has been having a wonderful weekend. :)

Today I wanted to show you a beautiful polish that my Mom picked up for me a little while ago when we went dusty hunting (by accident!): China Glaze Eyes Like Sapphires.

This gorgeous shiny deep blue has tiny silver sparkles in it, and is so beautiful:

I love it!! :D  But, to make my manicure pop even more, I put some Girly Bits Apparition over top, and this is how it turned out:

Isn't that such a lovely combination?  :D  Eeeee so pretty!!! XD

I hope that everyone has an amazing day!! :D

China Glaze Immortal and Glitter Goblin

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have two more polishes from the China Glaze Wicked collection: Immortal and Glitter Goblin.

First up: Immortal

Ohhhhhmygosh!  Isn't that just a stunning grey??!  It has the most beautiful fine shimmer in it.  When I hold it up to light and look really closely, I can see every colour of the spectrum in the shimmer.  Fantastic!! :D

And now for Glitter Goblin:

Glitter Goblin is small orange and holo glitter in a clear base.  In the photos above I layered it over China Glaze Cast a Spell. I can't remember for sure how many coats it took to make it that opaque, but I think it was 3 or 4.  Here is how one coat of it looks over CaS:

Like I said in my last Wicked post, I am really so impressed with this collection.  The formulas are amazing!!!! :D

Tomorrow I will be posting the other two polishes I have from this collection, so don't forget to check the post out! :D

Have a wonderful day!!
