Butter London Trout Pout

Good afternoon, dear readers! :D

Today I have a swatch of Butter London Trout Pout, a lovely cantelope (according to the website) shade, sent to me by the lovely Jenna from I'm Still Thinking.  Thank you so much, Jenna!!!! :'D

Now this is a really lovely bright colour, but I am not too sure about it with my skin tone.  I have a lot of pink in my skin, so I think this may clash.  :(

OH!  I wanted to mention: for those of you who followed Live. Laugh. Love. Lacquer., the blog owner has had a lot of trouble with re-vamping her blog, and cannot post on it anymore! D:  Please check out her new blog, Emalitsa.  :D  She had over 400 followers and now has only a fraction of that on her new site. :'(

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day and to those fellow Canadians out there, HAPPY CANADA DAY!!! :D

Born Pretty Product Review (Photo Heavy)

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a review of some more products sent to me from Born Pretty!

They sent me an absolutely adorable Hello Kitty computer cleaning kit, which includes a brush and a cleaning cloth.  This costs $2.61 :D!

They also sent me a fantastic nail art brush set, which includes 14 brushes and one dotting tool!

Here is an up-close of the computer cleaning kit, and instructions:

The brush is great for getting any food, cigarette ash or dust off of your computer and from in-between keyboard keys.  The cloth is softer on the back than on the front, and is made to get dust and dirt off of your computer screen (and glasses too! :D).  I think this is terrific value for your money, and I am very happy to have this as I tend to get stuff stuck in between the keys on my keyboard.  I gave it a quick try and it seems to work very well! :D

And here are up-close shots of the brush set (some photos I used flash to make the brush hairs more visible):

Isn't that a fantastic selection?  And best of all... the whole set costs $4.74!!!  How awesome is that?  You have a variety of brush shapes, and a terrific dotting tool.

Here is a brush trial manicure.  For this I used a base of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Limestone, and watered down white acrylic paint:

And here is another manicure using the brushes from this set.  I used a base of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Pacific Blue.  This manicure was a bit messy but that's because it was just one of those days.

Overall I think the brush set is great!!  I cut some of the brush hairs down as I prefer smaller ones, but that is my personal preference.  Also, the dotting tool allows you to make very tiny dots, and is pretty awesome!

If you do decide to check out the Born Pretty store, type in RA7X31 for a discount.  :D

Have a wonderful day!!

CalliopeKitten Review

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a few awesome products to show you!

I am very fortunate in being able to review some jewellery from Krystyn (of CalliopeKitten), a Toronto-based jewellery maker who has some seriously adorable and funky designs!  I contacted her to see if I could do a review, as I fell in love with the first bracelet I saw on her blog.  Since then, I have seen several other pieces that I really want to own, including the moustache necklaces!!  (Seriously, these are so fantastic and you HAVE to see them -> link!). :D

She packaged the bracelets in the most adorable pink and green box, but I misplaced it and so I cannot show you a photo of it.  :(  It is seriously cute!!

Onto the review!

Here is The Cali (CalliopeKitten’s signature bracelet line), in turquoise (real turquoise beads).  As their website says, “the Cali bracelet is recognizable by its large focal point, which is a large outline of a shape such as a circle, and have a different type of bead going through them than the rest of the beads on the bracelet”.

I LOVE this!!  This piece is what drew me to her products, and I am so glad I saw it!!  I am so excited to have one of these, as I think they are positively stunning!!!  There are several versions of The Cali, but this one is definitely my favourite.  :D  The beads and design are gorgeous, and I think the focal point really sets it apart from other bracelets.  Not only is it beautiful, but it has a stretchy clear thread going through the beads, so you don’t have any clasps to fumble with (and I find clasps can really detract from the design).  I am a big fan of easy to put on and go jewellery! :D

Next up is one of her Margarita Stretch bracelets.  This one is in blueberry. :D  The beads have a rubbery type finish which is really interesting to the touch, and they are gorgeous to look at.  :D  These are made to layer and are sold in sets of three, and you can get them in several colours. :D (To be honest the beads remind me of seeing Earth from space, with the vast expanses of blue and white clouds).

Next up, the turquoise white stone skull bracelet.  This has gorgeous turquoise beads and a single skull howlite bead as a focal point.  I have always been freaked out by skulls (despite having one myself), so I gave this one to my sister, who thinks it is great!!  :D  It is a fantastic bracelet (it also has a really good weight to it) but since skulls scare me (while my sister thinks they are really cool) I figured it would be best in her possession. :D XD

For last, we have the pastel pearl-ized bead bracelet.  This one is so cute! Wearing it reminds me of my childhood, and how wearing jewellery made me feel like a princess.  ^-^  I really like how there are metal painted wooden beads in between the pastel ones.  Very lovely! :D

All of these are on stretchy clear cords, and are awesome to wear!!!

For fun, here are a couple shots with the three blue bracelets:

Thank you so much, Krystyn!!!  I thoroughly enjoy these bracelets, and I hope to get my hands on some moustache necklaces!!! :D

Here are links to Krystyn's blog, her etsy store, and her tumblr. :D

I hope that everyone enjoyed this review! :D  The products have been sent to me (after I asked to do a review).  My reviews will always be honest! ;)

Twinsie Tuesday - Polish From Favourite Brand

Good morning, dear readers! :D

First off, I wanted to thank all of you SO MUCH!!! :'D  I have reached over 400 followers!!!  I seriously have to give my head a shake, as I never imagined that I would have so many wonderful people checking out my blog!!  Thank you all so incredibly much!! :'D  You mean the world to me!! :D

For those of you living in the continental U.S. and Canada, don't forget to check out my giveaway!! :D

Alrighty!!  It's Twinsie Tuesday! :D

For today's theme, we were to choose a polish from our favourite polish brand.

Now I can't choose one favourite brand, as I really like quite a few (Orly, China Glaze, come to meee!).  So this polish is from one of my absolute favourite brands: Nerd Lacquer!

Here is Exterminate (a polish based on the Daleks from Doctor Who!)

Isn't this a stunner???!  I own two Nerd Lacquer polishes (Exterminate and Don't Blink), thanks to the amazing Winnie!! :D  Thank you again so incredibly much, Winnie!  If it wasn't for you I don't think I would have ever had the pleasure to try Nerd Lacquer. :'D

As some of you know, the creator of Nerd Lacquer has completely disappeared.  :(  We have no idea what happened to her.  All I can hope is that she is okay and that nothing terrible has happened.  She is an incredibly talented polish creation artist, and I really hope that she comes back to the polish community, even if it is just to tell us that she is okay.  :(

Also, there is a contest going on over at Sassy Lacquer for the chance to win one of 4 Nerd Lacquer polishes!! :D  The contest goes until July 23rd, and is international.  Here is the link. :D  Best of luck!!! :D

Don't forget to check out the other lovely Twinsie Tuesday gals to see what they chose:

Pepe's Purple Passion

Good afternoon, dear readers!

I have been pretty busy these past few days so I apologize for my lack of posts.

Today's swatch is of the lovely O.P.I's Pepe's Purple Passion, from their Christmas Muppet line.  I picked this up a little while back in the clearance section of a salon, and when I brought it home I looked online to see reviews.  I was a bit worried as it seems like several people have had problems with this polish, with it separating, having a bad formula, being gloopey...etc..  Thankfully, I guess I got a really good bottle of it, because I thought it was fantastic, and it is now one of my favourite polishes! :D

Here are some photos:

Now here it is with that gold top coat I made:

And here it is with Essie As Gold as it Gets over top:

YAY!!!  I love it! :D  I think it looks fantastic with the gold polishes overtop, but still amazingly lovely without any additions.  What do you think?  :D

The Hungry Asian Sneeze Breeze

Good morning, dear readers! :D

Today I have a swatch of The Hungry Asian's Sneeze Breeze, an absolutely stunning polish that consists of several shades of blue and black glitter in a clear base.  This stunner was sent to me by the wonderful Malinda!! :D

For this manicure, I layered it over O.P.I's Dating a Royal.  I then smoothed it out with some top coat.  :D

Doesn't that look amazing?!!?  I had to put both non-flash and flash photos in this post to show you just how lovely this polish is! :D

Thank you so much Malinda!!!! :D  I would have never been able to try this beauty if it hadn't been for you!
